– For your consideration is this vintage 1967 Arbee Treble-Bass Boost effects unit.
– This incredibly rare plug-in effect is in NOS condition and includes the original box and corresponding paperwork.
– The only known documentation of this effect appears on page 23 of the 1967 Goya catalog. In which it is pictured alongside an Arbiter Fuzz Face and a Tel-Ray “ad-n-echo by Goya”, where it is described as follows, “Features solid state reliability and performance, no feedback or hum, unbreakable steel case, fingertip control. Created in California, U.S.A. to satisfy the demand for a small unit that is controlled at the guitar. Intensity of fuzz or boost controlled by by volume knob of guitar. Battery is disconnected when cable is removed. $24.95” Despite Goya’s advertised price, this unit appears to have been marked down to $10.00 at some point, as denoted on the box in pencil.
– There’s “rarer than hen’s teeth”, and then there’s “rarer than an Arbee Bass-Boost.”
