– For your consideration is this 1948 Epiphone Zephyr vintage electric hollowbody guitar with original hard case.
– This very nice blonde example, serial number 25552, has a great sounding original ‘Tone Spectrum’ pickup.
– Original parts include; “e” individual tuning machines, original ‘bikini’ badge, original trapeze tailpiece, original bridge, original white chicken head knobs with individual circular control plates, aforementioned original ‘Tone Spectrum’ pickup with original wiring harness.
– Aside from a modern replacement pickguard, this guitar is all original. The original brackets were salvaged as the previous guard likely gassed and disintegrated.
– It appears the spruce top was professionally carved out underneath the pickup as to inlay the original pickup surround to allow for better action. It was meticulously executed and the footprint looks quite clean.
– The original black case with pink interior is beautiful and in correspondingly well preserved condition.
– Neck measurements: 1 11/16″ nut width, 983″ neck depth at 1st fret, 1.173″ neck depth at 12th fret
