– For your consideration is this 1951 Bell & Howell Model 285 Part 07138 film projector amplifier.
– Very similar to the Filmosound Model 179, this amp was removed from a B&H Specialist projector, in which the power transformer was isolated and separate from the chassis. It can be converted into a self-contained amp head, however, it requires much more work than its 179 and 385 counterparts.
– This example, no serial number, is in unrestored original condition. It’s the perfect candidate for a conversion project.
– It retains all 4 vintage tubes.
