– For your consideration is this 1963 Martin 0-15T vintage flat top acoustic 4-string tenor guitar.
– This very nice 100% all original example, serial number 190065, is very well preserved and includes the original chipboard case.
– The 0-15T model features an entirely mahogany body construction finished in a semi-gloss satin lacquer clear coat. The fretboard, bridge, and peghead overlay are all Brazilian rosewood.
– This is a beautiful sounding instrument, with a balanced and clear projection.
– The 0-size tenor is Martin’s largest, with 13 5/8” lower bout and a 23” scale length.
– While Martin did make an 0-size tenor with a spruce top, consequently designated as an 0-18T, the all mahogany body seems to best balance the brightness from the tenor string arrangement.
– Aside from a small press ding that appears to have caused a non-structural crack in the lower back of the body, this guitar is in excellent all original condition.
– Low effortless action is common to this model, and this particular example is no exception: .045” string height on the low-E side at the 1st fret, and .125” string height on the low-E side a the 12 fret.
– Neck measurements: 1 1/4” nut width, .750” neck depth at 1st fret, .975” neck depth at 12th fret.
