– For your consideration is this used Guild S4BG Barry Gibb Limited Edition model acoustic electric guitar.
– This NOS mint condition example, serial number AE041121, has remained in the original shipping box for the past 23 years. It includes the original hard case with key and all original hangtags. The cardboard box which designates this instrument as “***SPECIAL ORDER***” is included. The box size is that which accommodates a jumbo acoustic, so it is very large.
– According to some estimates, only 400 S4BG Barry Gibb signature models were made by Guild between 1997-2001. With the very limited model being introduced in the ’98 Guild catalog, all Guild S4BG guitars were subsequently made in Westerly, Rhode Island, with the model being discontinued prior to shifting all other production to Fender’s Corona factory in late-2001. Of the 400 total guitars, the vast majority were finished in blue or “Metallic Blue” as one advertisement refers to such. However, it seems as if the majority of documented S4BG were actually finished in a translucent blue. Translucent red, or “Crimson” as Guild called it, is by far the rarest of the several options. It’s possible that only 20 such S4BG models in translucent red were produced.
