– For your consideration is this Dan Drive Secret Weapon fuzz effects pedal.
– This early prototypical example, serial number 087, was custom made for guitarist Owen Berry.
– The aluminum enclosure is bare and void of the typical patterned graphic which is featured on all production models. Additionally, the “mids” mini toggle is in between the level knob and the lamp jewel, which is an incredibly poor placement. This was resolved in production models, with the switch being moved to the left of the level know where one’s finger can actual reach.
– A great sounding pedal, this is a wonderful rich and sensitive fuzz pedal with all the personality of the original Zonk Machines.
– All 11 images are of the actual pedal.
– The Secret Weapon was born when JD Simo asked for a huge fuzz, sounds like those old Curtis Mayfield tones. The result is a zonk style fuzz,which sounds huge with a third knob for bias and the switch for mids.
